Guitar - Finding a guitar that suits you.
If you are looking for a guitar, you have multiple
choices. The electric guitar is played with an amplifier. This transmits the
sounds from the strings through a speaker, making it louder. The acoustic
guitar is a slightly larger guitar, and produces sound from its hollow body
when the strings are strummed. Remember your accessories are important too. The
right type of guitar picks will help you get the sounds you are looking for,
and straps are a must! They will keep the weight of your guitar distributed, so
you won't feel like it's breaking your back.
There are hundreds of guitars to choose from. If your looking for a beginners
guitar, try a Gibson, Les Paul standard. Also, Ephiphone and Kramer are great
Gibson guitars. Fender is another guitar manufacturer that has great guitars to
choose from. The Stratocaster, or Strat for short, and the Telecaster are two
more popular guitars made by Fender. Finding a great guitar is the easy part.
Learning to play is a different story.
When you are first starting out with your guitar, be prepared to have some sore
fingers. The strings have to be pressed into the fret board and held there.
This means some blisters. Don't worry, though. These blisters will soon become
calluses, and then you will not feel the strings as you press them. Also, be
ready to duck. Yes, duck. Sometimes, during a hard jam session, a string will
break. Sometimes the broken string can sling backward towards you. Don't let
these accidents stop you from becoming the next Joe Perry, or Jimi Hendrix. The
first few weeks of learning is easily the hardest, but also the most rewarding.
If you stick with it in no time you can be playing your guitar like a
professional!
